Hey there beautiful people! Happy sunday guys. I’m back with another requested post mostly from my snapchat followers. This post is about how I maintain a clean, clear healthy skin even on days when I wear makeup.
I am actually one of the people that really care for their skin and I worry so much if something goes wrong on my face especially when those devilish little pimples make an august visit once in a while *rolls eyes*..like can you please get behind me devull????
Like I mentioned earlier, I care about my face a lot and on days when I wear makeup, I pay extra attention to my face even if some days I may get really lazy and just end up wiping my face with face wipes and go straight to bed. I’m gonna be taking you through how i get my face prepped for bed and the products that I use.
The first thing I do after wiping off my makeup is that I cleanse my face. The reason for this is that face wipes don’t entirely wipe off your makeup and cleanse your face. I used to use the Garnier skin active micellar water before but I decided to switch to this Garnier skin active soothing botanical toner with rose water. What this does is help to remove dirt and impurities in the skin while still toning the skin- being someone that has an oily face the toner is very effective in preventing my face from acne. The rosewater also helps to reduce skin irritations and acne.
After cleansing, I make use of my Clean&Clear blackhead clearing face scrub to help protect my face from blackheads. It has micro-beads that help to exfoliate the skin by unclogging the skin pores and removing impurities from the skin. What i love about this scrub is that the micro-beads are very soft and gentle on the skin that you can use it everyday without feeling any harshness on your skin. Although, I do not use it everyday. I only use it thrice a week because I use other face products and too much of these things are not healthy for the face.
After applying the scrub, I make use of my MaryKay Skinvigorate cleansing brush to scrub my face and allow the scrub to go deeper into my pores and properly clear the skin. This particular brush is really good and you can set it to how gently or quickly you want the brush to work. The package comes with two brush heads and two AA batteries and the best thing is that you can use it at the shower or sink without damaging it. SHOP MARYKAY PRODUCTS BY USING THIS LINK.
This is my favourite part of the night even if I only wear face masks about three times in two weeks sometimes. I’ve used a number of face masks and this MaryKay Clearproof deep-cleansing charcoal mask is one of my favourites. What I do is after doing all the cleansing and washing, I apply this mask around my face and leave for about 15 to 20 minutes for it to properly absorb dirt in my skin. I just love the soft and gentle feel to it unlike some other masks that feel really oily for long.
The final nighttime routine i observe is the use of a night cream which helps to hydrate the skin overnight. You can use any moisturiser suitable for your skin but I recommend using Olay 2in1 hydration + radiant glow and moisturiser lotion. It’s often good to moisturise your face at night after washing to maintain hydration in the skin. Some people complain about dryness after using face wash and I tell them the most common reason for that is they don’t moisturise after wash. This night cream I use is the MaryKay extra emollient night cream and since I started using it, I’ve noticed a smoother and softer feel to my skin.
After all the stress of the day and the mixture of chemical in the air with those in my makeup, it feels great going to bed with a fresh and clean face and peace of mind that your skin is less prone to irritation and acne. My best advice to people is that you should never go to bed with makeup on. The chemicals in them can be harmful and even toxic. Make sure you clean your face and let us know of any of your favourite skincare routines before going to bed. Also, you can suggest to us of any good skincare products that are proven to work.
